Odd Pregnancy Craving

I’m 8 months pregnant, and I’ve been craving the smell of gasoline—like, I want to sit near a gas station! I haven’t tasted it, but the urge is so strong, and I’m scared it’s not normal. I’m too embarrassed to tell my nurse. Should I bring it up, or is this just a weird pregnancy thing? Any advice from nurses here?

What you're experiencing is actually more common than you might think, and it's called pica—a craving for non-food items like dirt, chalk, or even gasoline. During pregnancy, pica cravings can sometimes indicate nutritional deficiencies, particularly iron or zinc. It's absolutely important to bring this up with your nurse or healthcare provider, no matter how unusual it feels. They’ve definitely heard of it before and can help you address it safely.

please visit your nurses  and tell him/her every thing he will take the exam of hemoglobin and other micronutrient needed by you and fetal, please notify nurses about any change during pregnancy.
